Rebecca Vallance Opens a New Flagship Boutique in the Strand Arcade With a Luxurious Bridal Nook

When Rebecca Vallance-Gasan debuted her first collection in Paris in 2011, she immediately secured two accounts with luxury department store Harvey Nichols. Over the past 14 years, the Australian designer has taken the fashion world by storm, expanding her business across London and New York. This month, the brand opened a new flagship boutique in Sydney’s Strand Arcade – a move that signifies a major milestone for the founder and creative director.
“I wanted to launch my Australian flagship in an iconic space, so the Strand felt like a natural fit,” she tells Broadsheet. “The boutique is a benchmark for all our upcoming spaces and gives us the opportunity to showcase the breadth of our collections.”
For the store's fit-out, Vallance-Gasan enlisted her frequent collaborator Richard Archer from Archer Design. The aesthetic is minimalist – a palette of crisp whites and neutral tones complemented by luxe marble and pale wooden flooring. The changing rooms are intentionally spacious, swathed in plush carpets and oversized drapes.
The layout is designed to mimic a gallery, where the garments are displayed like works of art. Tucked away from the main entrance is the bridal suite, with a chic boucle sofa inviting bridal parties to relax with a glass of champagne. While Vallance-Gasan's future store in Rosebery, set to open later this year, will have a stronger focus on bridal wear, this flagship serves as the perfect introduction.
Drawing inspiration from art, travel and people-watching, Rebecca Vallance’s signature aesthetic blends structured tailoring with unique fabrics. The brand’s designs have been worn by celebrities like Naomi Campbell, Hailey Bieber and Priyanka Chopra. Tying in with the boutique's opening, the brand has launched its Fleurette collection, featuring bold reds, deep burgundy and soft blush tones for winter.
“There are dark coats, figure-skimming dresses, structured lines and textures with bespoke rose prints and taffeta flowers that play on the dichotomy between strength and fragility, mirroring a rose in full bloom,” says Vallance-Gasan.
The new flagship boutique marks the next stage of retail expansion for the designer, with three more spaces set to open in the next four months, in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
